The Chloe Paddington was originally launched in 2005 by the then creative director Phoebe Philo. It was first seen at Chloe’s spring/summer 2005 show.
The paddington instantly sold out before hitting stores and gained it-bag status of the 2000s.
Chemena Kamali was appointed creative director of Chloe in October 2023. Her vision for the brand draws deeply from it’s heritage, embracing a distinctly hyper-feminine aesthetic.
It’s no surprise, then, that she chose to revive the iconic Chloe Paddington - it perfectly aligns with her romantic and nostalgic direction for the brand.
The 2025 re-edition of the Chloe Paddington looks visually similar to the original bag, still featuring the design features and the beloved iconic padlock.

The main difference which has been reported is that the new version is considerably lighter. The way the bag was styled was also considerably different, on the runway, the bag was styled with playful accessories, including a faux-fur tail and charms- because honestly, who doesn’t love a good bag charm ?
The Chloe Paddington 2.0 is making it’s official return, with a US retail price set at $2,750.

Back in 2005 when the it-bag was first released it retailed for $1,400 and the initial 8,000 units sold out before even reaching stores. The exclusivity of the Paddington made it a coveted find fuelling the popularity of the it-bag.
The average pre-owned Chloe Paddington has increased in value by 275% in 2025. The average days it takes to sell went from 250 days to just 20 days.
With the new iteration of the Chloe Paddington debuted at the Fall/Winter 2025 show set to launch this autumn, resale prices are expected to climb even higher.
